Municipality of Kincardine ramping up for Election 2018

The Municipal Election that will be taking place this October has Kincardine Municipal staff in the planning process by reviewing the preliminary Voters’ List. Once this is completed the preliminary list becomes the Voters’ List on September 1, 2018.

For the first time, the Municipality of Kincardine will be using Vote By Internet/Telephone. As one of the security measures for this method of voting, electors will be required to enter their date of birth in order to access their ballot. A flyer with information on the Internet/Telephone voting was included in the recent tax bill and can be viewed on http://www.kincardine.net/election2018.cfm.

During the review of the Voters’ List, it has come to staff attention that some electors do not have a complete date of birth. Without the correct date of birth they will not be able to enter the voting system to cast their vote.

The Municipality has sent letters to the affected electors to make sure they are aware of the incomplete information and that they may correct the information in order to vote without further contact with the Municipality.

Everyone is being encouraged to ensure their information on the Voters’ List is correct by visiting www.Voterlookup.ca to confirm before August 27, 2018.
