Youth brandishing gun is apprehended

On August 3, 2018 at 7:12 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a male walking along Mechanics Avenue in Kincardine waving what was believed to be a handgun.

Officers located the male who was extremely agitated near the intersection of Queen Street and Broadway Street in Kincardine. Officers displayed their service issued firearms in the course of the arrest.

The male youth was taken into custody without incident. He will not be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

The investigation is in its early stages.
