The Board of Kincardine Pride is excited to announce that the 4th Kincardine Pride Parade and LGBTQ+ Celebration is back and will be held once again, after three very long years! All rainbow family supporters, friends and allies are invited to join us and “Show Your Pride” on Saturday June 25!
Participation is free, family-friendly and accessible, no registration required! Just bring your enthusiasm and rainbows and join in the celebration with your favourite music, a float, walking group or on your own and join some new friends!! Following the parade, celebrate Pride in Victoria Park with high-energy performances by all-ages entertainer, Saidat, and the very popular Pine River Line Dancers! If you’ve never been to our small-town Pride Parade, it’s time!
Kincardine Pride Parade celebrates our community and our visitors gathering in friendship, recognizing that “Love Is Love”, regardless of gender expression or sexual orientation, that everyone valued and belongs. Equally important in Pride Month is learning the history of the social injustices, persecution and discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and others of “non-traditional” gender identities and expressions . There’s still much education and work to be done towards overcoming long-standing prejudices and misconceptions before we achieve equity for all.
We invite businesses, organizations and individuals to proudly “Fly the Flag” in June, internationally recognized as Pride Month. Kincardine Pride, with the kind donations of its sponsors, will be distributing kits with re-usable supplies to local businesses to assist with Pride Month decorating and celebrating. We invite the entire community to show its LGBTQ+ ally-ship and support.
