Kincardine Charity Bridge Club supports Huron Shores Hospice

Huron Shores Hospice is delighted to honour the Kincardine Charity Bridge Club for their remarkable and steadfast support of compassionate community care. Since 2017, this friendly, volunteer-run bridge club—known in our community as “the little bridge club with the big heart”—has donated more than $30,000 to Huron Shores Hospice, celebrating and helping to sustain hospice care since our doors first opened.

This year, the Bridge Club continues its tradition of generosity with another meaningful donation of $7,500 in support of hospice care and programming in our region. Their gift reaffirms a deep commitment to ensuring comfort, dignity, and connection for those facing life-limiting illness and their families.

The Kincardine Charity Bridge Club brings people together for fun, fellowship, and friendly competition, hosting multiple weekly games for bridge players of all levels in the Miller Insurance room at the Davidson Centre. As an ACBL-sanctioned club, all profits from their games are shared with local causes, including Huron Shores Hospice, the Women’s House Serving Grey and Bruce, and the Davidson Centre itself.

“On behalf of Huron Shores Hospice, I extend our sincere gratitude to the members of the Kincardine Bridge Club for their many years of generous support,” said Cathy Herbert, Executive Director of Huron Shores Hospice. “Their generosity aligns beautifully with our year-end campaign, Ripple of One: Creating Waves of Compassion, demonstrating how one group’s kindness can extend far beyond the card table, supporting our vision to make moments matter and enabling us to continue to care for individuals at end of life with compassion and dignity.”

Huron Shores Hospice is a charitable not-for-profit, volunteer-driven, community-funded residential hospice, providing free quality end-of-life care, at no cost, to residents of Saugeen Shores, Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss and surrounding areas. Huron Shores Hospice also provides free programs for Grief Support, End-of-Life Doula services, Caregiver workshops, Death Cafes and End-of-Life Planning workshops.
