A flurry of thefts keep OPP busy

Since Christmas Day (Dec. 25th), there has been a flurry of thefts throughout the region of  south Bruce county:

January 6:  John Deere Mower – Brockton

On January 6, 2019 the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an address on Bruce Road 4 in the Municipality of Brockton to investigate the theft of a John Deere Mower from the property.

Unknown suspect(s) attended the property between January 2, 2019 and January 3, 2019 and removed the John Deere Mower.

The stolen John Deere Mower is described as a 2012 John Deere 8800 Terrain Cut Rough Mower, green and yellow in colour.

The value of the stolen John Deere Mower is estimated at $15,000.

January 6: Polaris Ranger & Suzuki King Quad – Brockton

On January 6, 2019 the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an address on Bruce Road 3 in the Municipality of Brockton to investigate the theft of a 2017 Polaris Ranger off road all terrain motor vehicle (ATV).

Investigation revealed that between January 5, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. and January 6, 2019 at 7:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) attended a property on Bruce Road 3, broke into a detached shed and removed two all terrain motor vehicles.

The all terrain motor vehicles are described as:

  • 2017 Polaris Ranger side by side, blue and white in colour
  • 2014 Suzuki King Quad AXI 750, red in colour

The total value of the stolen ATV’s is estimated at $22,000. 

January 3: Aluminum Trailer – Kincardine

Members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend an address on Durham Street in Kincardine in response to a theft of a trailer.

OPP investigators attended and discovered that unknown suspects attended an address on Durham Street in Kincardine between December 26, 2018 and December 30, 2018 and stole an aluminum trailer. 

The stolen trailer is described as a single axle, aluminum, 2012 Legend 610.

The approximate value of the stolen trailer is $2,300.

January 2:  Ford F150 Crew Cab – Greenock Township

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) South Bruce Detachment is investigating a report of a stolen vehicle that occurred on Sideroad 5, Greenock Township, in the Municipality of Brockton.                                 

On January 2, 2019 members of the South Bruce OPP responded to a break and enter into a garage on Sideroad 5 in Greenock Township. 

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that between January 1, 2019 at 9:15 p.m. and January 2, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) attended the address, broke into the garage and removed a vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a Grey 2011 Ford F150 Crew Cab. 

The value of the stolen vehicle is approximately $5,000.

December 31:  Doge Ram Quad Cab truck –  Chatsworth

On December 31, 2018 Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a business on 30 Sideroad, Municipality of Chatsworth, Grey County for a stolen (white) Dodge Ram quad cab dually pick-up with unique mud flaps. The dually rear wheel mud flaps are (black) with a (white) steer head logo.  The truck was taken between 5:00 am and 8:00 am on today’s date, December 31.

December 30/31: Utility Trailer – Carrick Township

Members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend Concession 12 East in Carrick Township in response to a theft of a trailer.

OPP investigation, thus far, has determined that sometime between Sunday December 30, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. and Monday December 31, 2018 at 7:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) attended an address on Concession 12 East in Carrick Township and removed a utility trailer that was parked on the property.

The trailer is described as:

  • 2006 Black Utility Trailer that has a Tall metal hatch and a hole in the wooden floor boards

The value of the utility trailer is approximately $2,000.

This is the second trailer theft reported in South Bruce in the past week.

OPP continue to investigate.

December 29:  Touring Ski-doo – Brockton

The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an address on Concession 2 in Brockton to investigate the theft of a snowmobile.

Investigation revealed that between December 28, 2018 at 10:00 p.m.  and December 29, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. an unknown suspect(s) attended the property and removed the snowmobile from the front lawn of a residence.

The snowmobile is described as a green 1996 touring ski-doo.  

The value of the stolen snowmobile is estimated at $1,200.

December 27:  Polaris ATV – Kincardine

South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an address on Concession 9 in Kincardine to investigate the theft of a 2013 Polaris RZR off road all terrain motor vehicle (ATV).

Investigation revealed that between December 23, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. and December 27, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. an unknown suspect(s) attended a property on Concession 9, broke into an outdoor shop and removed the ATV.

The ATV is described as 2013 Polaris RZR side by side, black in colour with some orange & white

The value of the stolen ATV is estimated at $8,500.

December 25:  Jayc Cra utility trailer – Walkerton

Members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend Queen Street West in Walkerton in response to a theft of a trailer.  

OPP investigators attended and discovered that two unknown suspects attended Queen Street West in Walkerton on December 25, 2018 at 1:15 a.m. The two suspects hooked a trailer up to the truck they were operating and fled the scene eastbound on Queen Street West.

The two suspects were operating a dark-coloured Ford F-150 with a bed toolbox and either a silver or chrome grill.  

The stolen trailer is described as a grey 1979 Jayc Cra utility trailer with the frame painted red.

The approximate value of the stolen trailer is $1,500.
