Adult male dies trying to rescue teens in Kincardine

On September 3, 2020 at 8:01 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of 2 teens being swept off the pier by a large wave at the main beach in Kincardine. Officers attended with members of the Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services and Bruce County paramedics to find the teens had returned to shore.

An adult who had jumped in to help the teens was recovered, unresponsive, from the water.

Aleem RAMJI, 38-years-old, of Toronto was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Access to the pier remains restricted in the interest of public safety. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area until it re-opens.
