Assault with a weapon charge laid in Kincardine

On November 11, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an unwanted person at an address along Queen Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

On police arrival, the involved person brandished an edged weapon towards officers. They were taken into custody after a brief struggle with police.

A 30-year-old male from Kincardine was charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon, CC 270.01(1)(a) – two counts
  • Fail to Comply with Probation, CC 733.1(1) – two counts
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, CC 88
  • Resist Peace Officer, CC 129(a)
  • Possess Stolen Property, CC 355(b)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
