Blustery winds and snow for Tiverton Remembrance ceremony

Despite blustery winds and snow, a good-sized crowd came out for the Tiverton Remembrance Day wreath laying that is traditionally held a day early so that people can attend both it and the larger event held in Kincardine on November 11th.

The service began with the singing of “O Canada,” followed by the “Last Post” played by trumpeter Ray Kester, two minutes of silence, the “Lament” played by piper Jennifer Farrell of the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band and then “Reveille” by Kester before the wreath laying began.

Many wreaths were laid at the cenotaph although the winds played havoc with them. Among those laying wreaths were MP Ben Lobb, Kincardine Mayor Anne Eadie on behalf of the County of Bruce and Kincardine Councilor Randy Roppell.

Rev. Eric Williams, Padre of Kincardine Legion, closed the ceremony.
