Bruce County announces new Energy Transition Initiative for local businesses

Bruce County’s Economic Development team is excited to announce new support for local businesses adopting cleaner energy practices with the new Energy Transition Initiative that  launched March 4th.

The Energy Transition Initiative will provide services to assist businesses in adopting clean energy solutions, fostering innovation and partnerships and accessing resources to support their transition. The project is funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness.

The Energy Transition Initiative provides local businesses with resources to shift from high-carbon energy sources to lower-carbon or clean energy alternatives. This initiative will build connections between local businesses, suppliers of clean energy technology and services and funding organizations to support in making energy transition possible for local Bruce County businesses.

Bruce County businesses will have access to support, cutting-edge resources, training and guidance to help with energy transition planning. This includes direction on regulations and financial incentives, developing formal energy transition plans and workshops.

Leading suppliers of cleaner energy technology and funding organizations will be encouraged to participate to build direct connections with interested local businesses and partnership developments to build collaborative solutions. Networking and connection opportunities will further support the development of capacity building and innovative solutions. Marketing and public recognition efforts will also be integrated into the initiative to increase visibility and showcase successes.

“Bruce County is proud to support our local businesses through the Energy Transition Initiative” says Jeff Loney, Economic Development Manager. “Providing businesses with the tools, connections and resources to integrate clean-energy practices will us to build more sustainable businesses and communities.”

Bruce County businesses have the unique opportunity to lead the adoption in energy transition and leverage a network of resources, technologies, and expertise, to reduce their energy emissions and create more robust and sustainable businesses for the future.
