Bruce County has appointed Sandra Datars Bere as its new Chief Administrative Officer.
Bruce County Council is pleased to announce the successful recruitment of the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the County of Bruce. Sandra will begin her journey as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) May 11th, 2020. The Acting CAO will remain on staff during the transition.
Working as Managing Director of Housing, Social Services and Dearness Home at the City of London, Sandra has been a valued member of the City’s Senior Leadership team. She has extensive experience in strategic social service program development and implementation at both the municipal and provincial level as well as direct experience overseeing a Long Term Care Home. Prior experience as Regional Director for the Ministries of Community and Social Services, Children and Youth and Municipal Affairs and Housing, Sandra brings to the table creative innovative ideas on bridging relationships with other levels of government.

As a double graduate of Western University in London, Sandra holds both a bachelor’s degree in Honours Psychology and a Master’s in Public Administration. Sandra is an active explorer in her community and serves on Western University’s Senate and its Alumni Association as well as on the Foundation at Huron University College, Western’s founding college.
Sandra has been a Board member of Vanier Children’s Services since 2017 and currently serves as Co-Vice Chair of Vanier’s Board of Directors.
