Spring is in the air and the Bruce County Museum is ready with brand new events and exhibits happening from April – June.
The first weekend of Spring began with two events – the Munchkins concert with kids performer Pete Moss and the first in the Muse-Talk series with the extraordinary adventurer and Elora Adventure Film Festival founder Ian Evans.
The weekend began Friday with adventure in mind when the Elora Adventure Film Festival founder Ian Evans brought highlights from the sold-out 2024 festival’s short films, capturing ordinary adventurers from around the globe achieving the extraordinary, that had the audience gasping at some of the daring adventures.
As a lifelong adventurer, filmmaker, and festival organizer, Evans brought a unique perspective, sharing his own stories and insights. The short films were followed by a live Q&A with the founder who answered many questions surrounding the making of the films.
Then, on Saturday, March 22nd, it was a show for the ‘munchkins’ and their parents when Pete Moss, an acclaimed children’s musician, performed a musical nature-themed show for all ages.
Pete Moss, an outdoor educator and musician, connects people of all ages with the natural world, draws his inspiration from Eastern North American birds, plants and weather, and his songs inspire empathy, wonder and affection toward living things.
The Bruce Power theatre was filled with toddlers and their parents as Moss had them all clapping, singing and some dancing along. It was a fun-filled high-energy performance for all ages.
As a children’s musician, he performs at schools, libraries, provincial parks, music festivals and birthday parties across Ontario and also is working as a child and adolescent psychotherapist candidate in Toronto.
