Bruce County Museum presents Secret Agents of the Underground Railroad

In recognition of Black History Month this February, the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is hosting a special screening of the CBC documentary Secret Agents of the Underground Railroad in the Museum’s Bruce Power theatre. This documentary, produced by Attraction for CBC’s The Nature of Things, explores how staff at a luxury hotel in Niagara Falls, NY helped ferry enslaved people to freedom in Canada.

In a revealing exploration of the hotel’s hidden remains and the artifacts left behind, co-host Anthony Morgan joins a team of archeologists and community leaders as they recover essential but forgotten history. Through an archaeological excavation of the site, we learn about the lives and operations of some of the Underground Railroad’s greatest unsung heroes.

Following the film, there will be a virtual Q&A period with the documentary’s Executive Producer, Richard Jean-Baptiste!

Richard is the VP of Business Innovation and Executive Producer at Attraction, where he develops new business and financial models, including partnerships within the FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) ecosystem, driving industry growth and innovation. He also leads Attria Media, part of the Attraction group, dedicated to amplifying diverse voices, particularly BIPOC creators, by providing a platform to develop and showcase their work.

Previously, he spent 18 years at Sid Lee, producing over 50 projects for global brands like Cirque du Soleil, adidas, and Netflix. His work has been featured across major networks, theaters, and festivals, earning multiple awards, including Gémeaux, Numix, and Cannes Cyber Lions.

Richard also serves as a board member and co-chair of the Black Screen Office of Canada, advocating for diversity and inclusion in the industry.
