As the holiday season quickly approaches in a year of uncertainty and change, one thing that has not changed is this spectacular time of year for families and friends to celebrate. This year celebrations may look different than in previous, however the magic is alive and well.
The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre has re-imagined programs and events in a safe way for you and your family to enjoy. The holiday season kicks off with the first PA Day of the year and a day of “Merry Makers!” on November 27th. School aged explorers will spend the day learning about handmade gifts, playing games and creating their own gifts. This program is proudly presented by Ontario Power Generation (OPG).
“Brews & Bites” the Museum’s annual beer tasting event is happening during the evening of November 27th. Charles MacLean from MacLean’s Ale’s in Hanover will spend the evening providing your taste buds with a tour through a selection of brews from blonde to porter, while enjoying delicious, paired appetizers from Harleys Pub & Perk in Mildmay. Pre-order your tickets now as seating is limited.
The “Holiday Tea & Social” delivers an afternoon of specialty teas, delectable seasonal treats, live music by Adrian Little and an opportunity to welcome the season. Plan to spend the afternoon of December 3 ringing in the holiday season.
Bring your little explorers to “Santa-See Visits”, a new take on visiting with Santa “COVID style”. For the first three Saturday afternoons in December, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the BCM&CC ready to read your Christmas wishes and to wave hello. Pre-registration is required for this event.
Create “Memories of Christmas and Holiday Traditions” at the Museum on December 19 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Fill your afternoon with holiday activities, games, treats and exploring Bruce County history.
