Commute Together Through Any Weather in Bruce County

Riding together during Winter Commute month also includes the possibility of winning prizes for doing so. It all begins by visiting SmartCommute.ca and logging in or creating an account.

Through SmartCommute.ca, residents can connect to find or offer rides to-and-from destinations across the County and beyond. Connecting with the Smart Commute Tool helps riders and drivers discover opportunities to connect with those heading to the same destination.

During Winter Commute Month, using the Smart Commute Tool to simply log commutes/ trips throughout February gives you an opportunity to win. Each one-way commute is an entry to a random draw for a chance to win one of five $100 shop local gift certificates. Full participation details are available on the website.

“Winter Commute Month is a great reminder that no matter the season, we can make choices to share our commute to help connect people, share travel costs and improve sustainability,” commented Claire Dodds, commissioner of community development for Bruce County.

A series of webinars are also on the calendar, each providing an opportunity to learn about sustainable commuting options. It’s also another opportunity to win with a random $20 gift card available to one attendee per webinar. The one-hour webinars are:
