Crime Stoppers is a civilian community organization devised to acquire information that assists law enforcement agencies in the resolution of crime. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $2,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of criminals, recovery of stolen property and seizure of illegal drugs while maintaining total anonymity to the caller and complete confidentiality of the tip.
Crimes of The Month
Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and your local police services are asking for the public’s assistance in solving the following crimes:
- Crime Stoppers and the West Grey Police Service are seeking the public’s help in solving a break, enter, and theft that occurred sometime between August 29th and September 7th at a residence on Grey Road 4 in Bentinck Township. Once inside, thieves removed jewelry; a quantity of coins; two cell phones; and a guitar amplifier, foot pedal, and case.
- Crime Stoppers and the West Grey Police Service are seeking the public’s help in solving a break, enter, and theft. Sometime between September 8th and September 17th a storage unit located on Elm Street East in Durham was broken into. Stolen were five large boxes containing an assortment of scale model cars of different sizes. The approximate value of the model cars is between $2,000 and $3,000.
- Crime Stoppers and the West Grey Police Service are seeking the public’s help in solving an attempted break and enter that occurred on September 11th at 9:50 p.m. An employee at Klemmer Sawmill in Bentinck Township noticed a suspicious male at a side entrance door, and upon investigating, the male ran towards the employee and struck him with an object. A second male ran from the entrance, and both culprits proceeded in a southerly direction into a swampy area; then what sounded like an older, un-maintained truck was heard starting up and fleeing the area. The two culprits were described as males in their twenties, under 6 feet, slender, both were wearing hoodies, and one possibly had light coloured hair.
- Crime Stoppers and the South Bruce OPP are seeking the public’s help in solving a sexual assault that was reported on September 21st at 8:14 p.m. which took place along the trail system, near the Saugeen River, in the town of Walkerton. Investigators are asking for help in identifying the suspect, who is described as male with dark coloured skin, short with a thick torso, approximately 40 years old, with dark hair and dark brown eyes, believed to speak Spanish or Portuguese, wearing a white tee-shirt and a baseball cap.
