The farmer-led, non-profit food co-op ‘Eat Local Grey Bruce’ will host its first-ever fundraiser gala at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Money raised at the ‘Harvest Gala’ will go towards supporting the growth and maintenance of Eat Local’s Owen Sound warehouse, including a new walk-in cooler, critically needed to store weekly orders of local farm fresh produce and to meet growing demand.
The evening will feature a gourmet three-course meal, all made with local ingredients and prepared by renowned chef and Eat Local producer Chris Bishop of Peasemarsh Farm.
The fully licensed event will also include a silent auction, door prizes, live music by the local band Moondance, and a one-of-a-kind opportunity for community building around the theme of food sustainability.
Eat Local is currently accepting contributions from local businesses for silent auction items as well as door prizes. Additionally, a free membership to Eat Local will be available in exchange for donations.
