(Bruce Peninsula) – On October 30, 2018 at 3:47 a.m. Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a fully engulfed house fire on Spry Lake Road, South Bruce Peninsula. Officers located three people inside the residence and a fourth person staying in a second structure on the property. A 17-year-old male suffered life-threatening injuries.
As of October 31, 2018 the 17 year-old male’s injuries were upgraded to serious.
The Ontario Fire Marshal has completed their scene investigation and police have released the scene. The house fire is not being treated as suspicious.

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) – Shortly before 5:00 a.m. on October 31, 2018, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) South Bruce Detachment attended an address on Lake Range Drive in Huron-Kinloss following a request to verify the well-being of a male occupant. The male was spoken with by police at that time.
Later that morning, members of the South Bruce OPP received a report of a sudden death at the same address and re-attended shortly before 8:00 a.m. The aforementioned male was located at the residence with vital signs absent. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was initiated by officers prior to the arrival of allied emergency responders.
The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. All other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342
