Huron-Kinloss closes all outdoor sports facilities and multi-use fields.

Effective April 17, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., all Township of Huron-Kinloss outdoor sports facilities and multi-use fields including ball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and skateparks will be closed until further notice.

Staff will be placing signage at the facilities in the upcoming days. These measures are being taken as a result of the Province of Ontario New COVID-19 strengthening measures in response to the rapid increase in COVID-19 transmission, the threat on hospital system capacity, and the increasing risks posed to the public by COVID-19 variants of concern.

Mayor Twolan urges everyone to take this third wave seriously “All residents and businesses play a very significant role in keeping our community safe and preventing the spread of COVID-19. Please continue to follow these important COVID-19 guidelines and take care of each other, the health of our family, friends and neighbours depends on it.”

A reminder that the Huron Landfill is closed Saturday April 17, 2021 and there is a Total Burn Ban for the entire Township of Huron-Kinloss and the response area within the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh serviced by the Lucknow & District Fire Department.

We will report any additional restrictions as a result of the strengthened safety measures when they become available.
