Huron-Kinloss COVID-19 Enforcement

Under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and its Regulations municipalities have the authority to enforce the Provincial and Municipal Emergency Orders.

The Township will investigate the following:

• Failure to comply with the Full Burn Ban (open air, beach fires, recreational fires (campfires)
• Failure to comply with the Order to not permit the operation of any valves for the purpose of supplying water to seasonal dwellings.
• Failure to comply with the closure of all communal or shared public or private outdoor recreational amenities.
• Gatherings of five or more in a public space.
• Operation of Non-essential businesses that are providing in-person services to the public

“Our hope is that people will follow the orders to help protect their own and others’ health, but in the event this is not happening, Enforcement Officers have the ability to lay fines to ensure compliance of the Provincial and Municipal closures,” said Mayor Twolan.

Emergency order complaints can be filed with the Township Office during regular business hours by calling 519-395-3735. After hours and weekend complaints call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
