Beginning Monday, July 6, the hours of operation for the COVID-19 Assessment Centre at the Kincardine hospital will be extended to 12:00-6:00 PM Monday to Friday.
Volumes at the assessment centre have been steadily increasing as a result of expanded swabbing criteria and the requirement for long-term care visitors to have a negative swab within 14 days of visiting.
Testing is available at the Assessment Centre for the following groups:
- All people with at least one symptom of COVID-19, even if mild
- people who are concerned they have been exposed to COVID-19 through exposure to a confirmed or suspected case
- People who are at risk of exposure to COVID-19 through their employment, including essential workers (e.g. health care workers, grocery store employees, LCBO, etc.)
- Those requiring COVID-19 testing in order to visit a long-term care home, prior to surgery, or require testing for any other reason.
There are three COVID-19 Assessment Centres in the Grey Bruce region.
