Kincardine incumbent Mayor has a resounding victory

Kincardine will see some changes at the Council table following the election but Mayor Anne Eadie retains her hand at the helm of the Mayor’s chair with a resounding victory of 3,000 votes more than her only opponent Ron Stephens (3,435 – 374).

Four Councilors-at-large, Dave Cuyler, Laura Haight, Doug Kennedy and Marie Wilson, were elected and, in Kincardine the one with the most votes is automatically declared Deputy Mayor.  Newcomer Marie Wilson, with 2,910 will now find herself in that position.

In Ward 1, incumbent Marueen Couture was returned to Council with 1,658 votes along with Gerry Glover with 1,485.

In Ward 2, Bill Stewart defeated incumbent Linda McKee by almost 500 votes (*769 – 285).

The overall voter turnout was 39.38%
