Kincardine springs into Spring Clean-up week

It’s the time of year when you’re ready to throw open your windows and do a good house cleaning. The Municipality of Kincardine is partnering with Bar Down Kincardine to present Spring Clean Week to help the community clear the cobwebs and clutter.

From April 17th to the 24th, you’re encouraged to get together with family and friends to make a difference by lending a hand to pick-up litter across the Municipality. Build some teams, challenge one another, and participate in the activities overlapping Earth Day on April 22nd.

Registration at the service desk in the Davidson Centre in Kincardine gets each participant a Spring Clean Week Clean-up Kit. Inside the kit are designated Spring Clean Week garbage bags, gloves, and a list of drop-off locations where participants can take their full bags. Take your kit and head out to local parks and beaches to help clean things up after the winter season.

On Saturday, April 22nd residents have an opportunity to part with items they no longer need. Participation in the Goods Exchange Day is simple: place unwanted items at the end of your driveway where others can pick them up. The Municipality will not be collecting leftover items so please remove them from the curb by 6 o’clock that evening.

A grand finale community clean-up on Station Beach begins at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 23rd. The invitation is open to all so we can work together to beautify our beaches and parks for the summer season ahead.
