With the Marine Heritage Festival in Southampton literally only days away, events have already begun.
The Festival begins on Friday evening (July 27) with the kick-off at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre. The marine themed evening starts off this fun-filled weekend just right with live music by the Bobby Dean Blackburn Trio, children’s entertainment and activities, light snacks and refreshments along with time to explore the exhibits.
In addition, you can help decorate the Museum’s entry cardboard boat for the race on Saturday!
The festivity starts at 6:00 p.m. and admission is FREE with a cash bar.
To get ready for the big celebration weekend, a special cardboard boat building lesson was held on the Museum’s front lawn on Wednesday, July 25th. Rob Campbell, cardboard boat builder extraordinaire lead the class in how to construct a boat made of cardboard, that is harder than it appears.
