Official Municipal Election 2022 results

The 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections ended at 8 p.m. yesterday evening, October 24th. A total of 19 candidates competed for 9 positions on the Municipality of Kincardine Council.

Jennifer Lawrie, Clerk for the Municipality of Kincardine has officially declared the following candidates elected as a result of the Municipal Election:

Mayor
· Kenneth Craig

Deputy Mayor
· Andrea Clarke

Councillor At-Large
· Mike Hinchberger
· Rory Cavanagh
· Jennifer Prenger

Councillor – Ward 1
· Beth Blackwell (acclaimed)
· Doug Kennedy (acclaimed)

Councillor – Ward 2
· Bill Stewart

Councillor – Ward 3
· Amanda Steinhoff-Gray

In addition, candidates for two school boards have been declared winners:
Trustee – Bluewater District School Board
· Jan Johnstone

Trustee – Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board
· Lori Di Castri

“We thank all those who felt so passionately about making a difference in their community that they chose to run for Council,” says Chief Administrative Officer Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier. “We also extend our thanks to the current Council who will finish out their terms in the coming weeks. This term brought challenges many of us have not experienced during our time in public service and the continuation of service throughout those challenges is a testament to the dedication and effort to all those who serve.”

The inaugural session of the new Municipality of Kincardine Council will be held in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Administration Centre on November 16th at 5 o’clock in the evening.
