This significant investment will fund essential nursing and personal support services, ensuring compassionate, high-quality care for more residents and their families in the region.

“We are deeply grateful for this substantial support from the Ontario government, which reflects their commitment to providing end-of-life care in rural communities,” said Cathy Herbert, Executive Director of Huron Shores Hospice. “This funding allows us to continue providing excellent care for our existing residents while expanding our capacity to serve even more individuals and families when they need us most.”

The additional funding that will see Huron Shores Hospice expand to three beds represents a major milestone for the hospice, enhancing its ability to meet the growing demand for end-of-life care in the region. This support ensures more residents can receive dignified, personalized care close to home, surrounded by their loved ones.

The hospice relies on a combination of government funding, community donations, and volunteer efforts to fulfill its mission.
