Phantom Piper remains but no Pipe parades this summer

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our current landscape and plans for the coming months, the Municipality of Kincardine, in coordination with the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band Executive, have made the difficult decision to cancel the weekly Pipe Band Parades for the 2021 season.

The KSPB Executive have provided an official statement as to their desired path forward for the summer of 2021:

“As the Province of Ontario prepares to open up in phases, out of the interest of public health and safety it is apparent that the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band is unable to continue this summer with traditional Saturday Night Parades.

Fortunately, we have again worked along-side the Municipality and Kincardine Marina/Yacht Club and will be moving forward with the Phantom Piper playing atop the Lighthouse, commencing July 1, 2021.”

The Municipality of Kincardine would like to thank the KSPB for working with us on these initiatives and we appreciate the decision made to ensure public safety is our priority.

We will continue to monitor the provincial phases, and, as permitted, look forward to exploring other opportunities with the band and their members this summer.
