Time to nominate a Remarkable Citizen

Not even a pandemic will prevent Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson from recognizing and celebrating remarkable citizens across the two counties.
Thompson has issued a call for nominations to recognize the remarkable dedication and volunteer work done by local residents.
This year, due to COVID-19, the MPP is planning on hosting a virtual levee to ring in the new year and to salute this year’s winners. Details will be announced at a later date in December.
Each year, Remarkable Citizens awards are handed out to respected and dedicated community leaders, volunteers, and residents who have made a positive impact within the riding of Huron-Bruce.
“We have all been through a lot these past few months,” Thompson said. “But I know there are many, many outstanding and remarkable citizens who are doing their part to help others during this pandemic as well as being engaged in other areas and making a difference in their communities. As I have said before, volunteers are the lifeblood of every community, and I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet so many across the riding.”
To nominate someone, describe in approximately 250 words, the person’s contribution to the community and why you feel they are deserving, and send it to diane.foxton@pc.ola.org. Please include contact information for both the nominee and the nominator. Also include two pictures of the nominee.
Nominations can also be mailed to either constituency office: Blyth (408 Queen St. P.O. Box 426, N0M 1H0) or Kincardine (807 Queen St. Unit 2, P.O. Box 834 N2Z 2Y2).
Nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2020. For more information, contact Diane Foxton at 519-396-3007.
“We may not be able to be in person for the levee,” Thompson added, “but there will be plenty of virtual hugs to hand out as we applaud the volunteer work of our local heroes.”
