The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted with a fire call for service at the Ripley-Huron Community School.
On Wednesday May 6, 2026, just before 1:00 p.m., South Bruce OPP officers responded to a report of a burning smell at Ripley-Huron Community School.
OPP members, the Ripley-Huron Fire Department and Lucknow Fire Department all responded.
School staff and students had already been safely evacuated.
There were no injuries.
During the evacuation, officers worked with school staff and firefighters to transport food and drinks to the evacuated students. Staff and students were able to enter the school before dismissal time.
