Ten years, a community of supporters, and countless moments of compassion later, Huron Shores Hospice celebrated the 10th anniversary of its signature fundraiser, Handbags for Hospice, on September 17th at the Kincardine Pavilion.
The milestone evening brought together community members, sponsors, volunteers, donors, local businesses, and hospice supporters for a night of celebration, connection, and fundraising.
Together, the community raised an incredible $275,152 in support of Huron Shores Hospice.
While the evening marked an important fundraising milestone, its impact reaches far beyond one night.
“Ten years of Handbags for Hospice is really a celebration of this community and the extraordinary way people continue to show up for one another,” said Cathy Herbert, Executive Director of Huron Shores Hospice. “To raise $275,152 in one evening is incredible, but what that number represents is even more meaningful. It represents comfort, dignity and compassionate care for people at the end of their lives, and precious time for families to simply be together. For 10 years, our sponsors, donors, volunteers, guests and local businesses have believed in this event and in our mission. We are deeply grateful for every person who has helped us grow from an idea into the hospice and
community resource we are today. This community truly understands what it means to make moments matter.”
As Huron Shores Hospice celebrates this remarkable 10-year milestone, the organization extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of the Handbags for Hospice journey. The generosity shown year after year is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together with a shared purpose.
The success of this year’s event will help Huron Shores Hospice continue to respond to the needs of local families and ensure compassionate end-of-life care remains available close to home. With the continued support of this extraordinary community, Huron Shores Hospice looks to the future with gratitude, knowing that together, we will continue to make moments matter.
