On July 3, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Chatsworth Fire Department responded to an off-road vehicle collision on Moto Park Road, in the Township of Chatsworth.
Witnesses to the collision performed lifesaving measures on scene. The driver was airlifted to a London area hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
On July 5, 2021, the driver, identified as 26-year-old, Steven DUNLOP of Kettleby, Ontario was pronounced deceased.
The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Team (TIME) is continuing to assist with the investigation.

All available members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) took part in the Canada Day Road Safety Week campaign that ran from June 26, 2021 to July 4, 2021. Officers paid close attention to the “Big 4” causal factors in serious collisions on OPP patrolled roadways; Impaired Driving, Distracted Driving, Aggressive Driving and Fail to wear a Seatbelt.
South Bruce OPP officers laid a number charges during the week long initiative:
114 speeding charges, 3 stunt driving charges, 3 distracted driving charges and 1 driver was charged with failing to wear a seatbelt. In addition, 1 impaired driver was charged and another was issued 3-day driver’s license suspensions for a warn range result at the roadside.
During the campaign, the South Bruce OPP investigated 13 motor vehicle collisions, with non-life threatening injuries reported at 1 of the scenes.
The campaign has ended, but motorists can expect to see South Bruce OPP officers continuing our patrols of highways, trails and water ways watching for drivers whose choices put you at risk.
