COVID-friendly community winter events can receive Bruce Power support

Bruce Power has created a one-time, $50,000 event sponsorship program for organizations, municipalities and services in Bruce, Grey, and Huron counties that plan to hold COVID-safe events this winter.

“We know the winter months are long for many people, and will be especially so this year with COVID-19 gathering restrictions in place,” said John Peevers, Bruce Power’s Director of Community & Media Relations and Economic Development. “We’d like to support groups and organizations that will help reduce isolation by holding fun and safe events in our communities. Mental health is as important as physical health, and we want to provide a boost for organizations that are hosting safe events over the winter months.”

Events could include those with virtual attendance, reserved time slots to maintain proper numbers, enhanced cleaning protocols, and outdoor socially-distanced activities for all ages.

Applications should include a description of the event, sponsorship amount requested and how funding will be used, and a description of the COVID-19 safety protocols that will be in place. Applications can be submitted at https://brucepower–sponsorship.sponsor.com/form and must be received by November 27th.
