Dangerous Driver Arrested

A 25-year-old from Middlesex Centre Township is facing a number of criminal charges after he was arrested by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) yesterday morning in Huron Park.

The accused was initially wanted in relation to a break, enter and theft that took place at a storage shed located on Bronson Line last weekend. On March 29th around 8:00 p.m. a Huron OPP officer came across the suspect vehicle and stopped the suspect on Huron Street West in Exeter. Upon informing the suspect he was under arrest the accused immediately took off in his vehicle nearly striking the officer. Police followed the suspect a short distance however the accused’s dangerous driving necessitated police to discontinue the chase. 

Less than a week later police had their man. An officer on general patrol located the accused yesterday morning in Huron Park and he was taken into custody without incident.

A 25 year-old male from Middlesex Centre Township has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break & Enter – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Escape Lawful Custody
  • Flight from Police Officer
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

He remains in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for April 4, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
