Greenfield Cares donates to Kincardine Food Bank

The Kincardine Foodbank has received $8,000 as part of a commitment by Greenfield Global to help local communities impacted by COVID-19. The company’s newly established Greenfield Cares Fund will be directing 41 grants totalling $400,000 to local charities in eleven communities where Greenfield Global employees live and work.

The Kincardine Food Bank provides perishable and non-perishable food items to hungry families, many of whom are facing hardships due to COVID-19.

“These are incredibly challenging times, and we are committed to supporting local organizations that are helping those being hardest hit by COVID-19,” said Jim Murr, plant manager at Greenfield’s Tiverton facility. “Through the Greenfield Cares Fund, we are pleased to be supporting the phenomenal work being done by the Kincardine Foodbank and are thankful for their positive impact in the community where we proudly live and work.”

Since the start of the global pandemic, Greenfield has played a leading role in supplying vital alcohol needed for hand sanitizers used to combat the deadly disease. Through the Greenfield Cares Fund, donations will support local organizations that provide essential services, including; hunger relief, shelter assistance, and support for hospitals and frontline workers.
