Guns vs. Hoses raise much needed funds and food

The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) took on the Kincardine Fire Department (KFD) in a long-standing friendly hockey rivalry, also known as the “Guns vs Hoses” game. The fun filled match took place at the Tiverton Arena yesterday, February 5th, and was well attended.

At the faceoff, from left to right: Cody Hayes (KFD), Fire Chief Brad Lemaich (KFD), South Bruce Inspector Krista Miller (OPP), and Constable Jake Karley (OPP)

Both teams gave it their all, and after a tough three periods, the “sharp-shooting” South Bruce OPP claimed victory with a 5-4 win over the “high pressure” of the Kincardine Fire Department.

Prizes were handed out after a raffle and chuck-a-puck event which was a favourite with the kids in attendance.

The Kincardine Food Bank and Huron Shores Hospice were on hand to collect donations of cash and over 20 totes full of donated food items.

The South Bruce OPP and Kincardine Fire Department would like to thank everyone who attended the event and supported their community.
