The community lost a great friend and a generous volunteer when Kelly Graham passed away on July 27, 2020. She worked her entire professional life as a lawyer in the City of Owen Sound, serving many city residents and institutions as well as clients throughout Grey and Bruce Counties. Kelly was dedicated to her community and was very active as a volunteer, serving on the boards of a wide range of local groups including Grey Bruce Health Services, Community Care Access Centre, the Zonta Club and the Owen Sound Skating Club. Kelly was a long-serving Board member of Community Foundation Grey Bruce from 1998 to 2011 and also served as Chair from 2009 to 2010. After retiring from the Board, Kelly remained engaged as legal counsel for the Foundation, most recently in her capacity as a partner in the law firm of Boyce and Graham LLP.

Maureen Solecki, current Chair of the Board of Directors of the Foundation said, “I had the great pleasure of working with Kelly when she served on the Grey Bruce Health Services Board of Directors and more recently through the Foundation. Kelly’s significant impact on these organizations and so many more in the community, lives on brightly. It is so fitting that the Graham family has created this fund to continue such good work in her memory, both supporting her long-standing interest in the Foundation’s success and in the furtherance of gender equality bettering the lives of women and girls in Grey Bruce.”

According to Jeff Graham, “Our family received an incredible amount of support from the community during Kelly’s illness and passing. Establishing the Legacy Fund through Community Foundation Grey Bruce is our way of thanking everyone who helped us through this difficult time. Kelly was a quiet champion for women’s rights. Her Legacy Fund allows us to support the success of women and girls in our area.”
