This significant milestone brings the Foundation closer to its ambitious goal of raising $18 million for the expansion of the Kincardine hospital and the addition of an MRI.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to this campaign so far,” said Becky Fair, Foundation President. “Reaching the $10 million mark as we start our third year of the campaign is a testament to the generosity and commitment of our community. We are confident that, with continued support, we will achieve our goal and enhance health care services for generations to come.”

Graham Mahood, Campaign Co-Chair, emphasized the importance of community involvement. “There is often a misconception that the local community does not need to contribute to the cost of a hospital expansion or equipment,” Mahood said. “In reality, the local community must raise 100 per cent of equipment costs and 10 per cent of the construction cost of an expansion project.”

The Kincardine hospital has not seen a major upgrade in 35 years. The funds raised will support the construction of a new Emergency Department, laboratory and comprehensive Medical Imaging Unit, including the installation of an MRI. This expansion will double the footprint of critical services offered within the hospital, providing beter service and the newest technologies to our growing population.

“The response from the community has been strong to date,” added Kathryn Freimanis, Campaign CoChair. “Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to realizing a state-of-the-art health care facility which benefits patients and also helps atract new physicians.”

The Foundation encourages anyone interested in supporting the campaign to contact Mark Womack at 519-396-3331 x4335 or kfcapitalcampaign@outlook.com for more information.
