Kincardine Legion Corner: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 183

Branch elections will be taking place on April 28 at 2pm in the hall. Positions to be elected are Branch President, 1st Vice, 2nd Vice and 6 executive members. To run for president 1st or 2nd vice you need to have served on the executive for 1 year. To be eligible to be on the executive you must have been a legion member for one year. Any members wishing to run for any of the positions may let the nomination committee Mary Farrell or Maureen Couture know of their intent. Nominations by any member will also be taken from the floor, on the day of the election.

Any legion member who has paid their 2019 dues may vote. Members must show their membership card

Catch the Ace draws take place on Wednesday at 4pm, we are happy to be teamed up with Special Olympics this time around. Catch the Ace tickets are sold at In Style Hair studio, Sleepers bed gallery, Jean’s Restaurant, Esso on Queen, Edward Fuels and the Legion Bar. Tickets go on sale on Thursday afternoon for the following week’s draw, at all outlets. If you missed getting your ticket at your favourite outlet before they were gathered up, they are available for last minute sales at the legion bar if there are tickets available, until a couple minutes before the draw.

Looking for something to do on Thursday nights? Come out by yourself or with some friends and play Bingo. There is a door prize every bingo night the draw takes place right after the break. The doors open at 6pm, the early double dabs games start at 7pm, followed by the regular games. Hot dogs, sandwiches, chips, pop and chocolate bars are for sale in the hall. Fried finger foods are available at the upstairs bar.

Friday April 26 is a busy night at the legion. Trivia is in the hall with the first question starting at 7pm. There will be a jam session in the clubhouse for all those musicians out there to come participate in, or for people to just come and listen.

Legion hours are Monday to Friday noon to 10 pm, Saturday’s noon to 6 pm, grab some friends and come check out your local legion. Everyone is welcome.
