Krystyne’s Kitchen – cooking made simple

Krystyne Mazur of Krystyne’s Kitchen is passionate about cooking, about nutrition and about health.

“I want to bring families back into the kitchen,” she says.  “There was a time when the family cooked together and then sat around the table for dinner.  With today’s busy lifestyles and schedules, that doesn’t often happen anymore and families are missing out on that special time together.”

Krystyne’s Kitchen cooking classes for kids, Kidz Cuisine, is a testament to the interest that kids have when it comes to cooking. Each summer, her classes offered through the Southampton Art School are filled to capacity with a waiting list.  When young people leave her class, they are excited about food and about preparing it.  They also learn table etiquette, how to set a table and even how to fold a napkin in many different ways.  “Often they take that passion home,” says Krystyne, “and it becomes a new experience for the entire family.”

“I want to thank Foodland from Southampton, Rowland’s Independent Grocer from Port Elgin, the Bulk Barn from Port Elgin and the Southampton Meat Market for supporting Kidz Cuisine through the Southampton Art School,” says Krystyne.  ” Their support has been vital in continually allowing me to offer my class through the Southampton Art School.”

Now, however, Krystyne is branching out by offering unique cooking lessons to adults.

“Young newlyweds, for instance, may find cooking from scratch daunting,” she says, “but really it’s very simple when you learn how step by step.  When you’re a new bride, nothing can be more intimidating than to have the in-laws for dinner and that’s where I can help with deciding on the menu from entree to dessert and then helping with the preparation.”

Having a special dinner party for a special occasion?  Krystyne can help everything run smoothly when it comes to the meal.

‘Eating healthy nutritious food prepared from scratch is definitely a passion of mine,” adds Krystyne.  “Coming from a big family, it was something that we just naturally did.”

Whether it’s one-on-one in your own kitchen, or with a group of friends who want to try something different, a cooking class is fun and … delicious.  Thinking about a special wedding or shower gift, why not think about a gift card from Krystyne’s Kitchen for a cooking class with Krystyne.
