Mini Comic-Con kicks off March Break at Kincardine Library

Kick off your March Break at Bruce County Public Library’s Mini Comic-Con®!

Why travel to the big city to celebrate your favourite fandom, when you can experience an authentic scaled-down version in your own community?  This family-friendly event takes place at Kincardine Branch Library Saturday, March 14.  Doors open at 10:00am and the activities run until 3:00pm.

The day offers something for everyone, including: an illustration workshop with Jenny Lee Learn, superhero story time, fandom trivia (hosted at Grey Matter), Quidditch with the University of Guelph Quidditch team in Victoria Park, a mini escape room, green screen photos, light sabre battles and more. Several vendors will be on hand displaying jewelry, comics, collectibles, books and art supplies.

And what is a Comic-Con® without a special guest?  We are thrilled to welcome the legendary Brampton Batman!  The caped crusader has agreed to postpone crime-fighting for the day to pose for photos at the Library event.

One of the main features of the day is the youth art contest.  Pop by the branch on March 14 and vote for your favourite.   All submissions will be on display for the entire month of March.

Admission is free and there is no charge for participating in any of the activities.  For more information, please visit our website at library.brucecounty.on.ca.
