Public safety officials in Kincardine today announced that ‘Kincardine Alert’ is now available to all residents, replacing the previous ERMS system. ‘Kincardine Alert’ is a free service that allows individuals to receive notifications sent from authorities to stay informed on potentially hazardous situations involving weather, traffic, and other emergencies, including the spread of the coronavirus.
The switch to ‘Kincardine Alert’ allows residents to receive alerts via phone, text and email, and answer poll questions that will give Kincardine officials critical information during emergency situations. Individuals who are signed up for alerts will receive reliable information about the coronavirus, including tailored updates based on their specific needs and geographic location.
Individuals who were previously signed up for the ERMS Notification System will be transferred to Kincardine Alert, but will only remain in the alerting system until June 30th. In order to continue to receive notifications, we encourage residents to create a new profile, by clicking this link Kincardine Alert and provide their important contact information. Again, this must be completed by June 30th, 2021.
Residents and travelers to the Municipality of Kincardine who were not previously signed up for ERMS should sign up for free at Kincardine Alert to receive timely and actionable emergency alerts via email, text or voice message. They can also identify when and how they are alerted and communicated with before, during, and after emergencies.
‘Kincardine Alert’ strengthens Kincardine officials’ ability to communicate with residents when it matters most,” said Shane Watson, Acting Community Emergency Management Coordinator. “This service allows for critical communication with the public and provides individuals with the information needed to stay safe or take precautions during hazardous or emergency situations, especially the current coronavirus outbreak.”
‘Kincardine Alert’ is trusted by thousands of institutions including many authorities, business and educational institutions. ‘Kincardine Alert’ sends millions of messages daily and during critical situations such as severe weather.
