At the Municipality of Kincardine Council meeting of June 16, 2021 Council appointed Andrea Clarke to the vacant position of Councillor Ward 1.
The Office of Councillor Ward 1 for the Municipality of Kincardine was declared vacant in accordance with section 262(1) of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001.C.25 on April 26, 2021. This position was left vacant by the appointment of Gerry Glover to the position of Mayor after that seat was left vacant by the resignation of Mayor Anne Eadie.
The process for filling this vacancy was conducted under the “Appoint an Eligible Elector to Fill a Vacancy Procedure” approved by Council on November 9, 2020.
Two candidates filed all necessary papers and declarations during the period commencing Monday May 10, 2021 and completed at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021. Each of the candidates was afforded the opportunity to address Council at the meeting. After hearing from the candidates, Council voted by way of open public vote.
