The Municipality of Kincardine is lowering all Canadian flags on Municipal properties to half-mast as a sign of respect and condolence in recognition of the passing of Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The official website of the Royal Family reports that the Queen died peacefully at her home in Balmoral today, September 8th.
2022 has been celebrated as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year in recognition of her 70 years of service. The anniversary of her accension to the throne was on February 6th of this year, with the United Kingdom observing a four-day holiday weekend in June to celebrate the unprecedented occasion of a British Monarch reaching this milestone.
The Municipality of Kincardine’s Council extends sympathies on behalf of the entire community to those grieving this loss.
Queen Elizabeth II was 96 years old.
