OPG continues support of Kincardine Summer Music

On the morning of Wednesday, August 5th, representatives of the Kincardine Summer Music Festival met in Kincardine’s Victoria Park, to receive $1500 from Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Lynda Cain towards the upcoming Festival.

This year the festival will be proceeding from August 10th to the 14th with five virtual on-line concerts each starting at 7:00 p.m.  OPG is proud to be a founding sponsor of this Festival which is now in its 29th year and encourages everyone to visit the KSMF website at www.ksmf.ca. to participate.

The Kincardine Summer Music Festival is proud to present a star-studded lineup Monday to Friday August 10 – 14. Five online concerts – safe and easy to access from home.

No admission fee, but please consider making a donation to support the Festival and these excellent musicians.

Who are these artists?

The Festival is showcasing first-class, award-winning musicians from across Ontario and Quebec. Playing from their home, studio, or concert hall, following Public Health guidelines, these artists have created a virtual concert series for you to enjoy.

August 10 Two Jazz greats: multiple JUNO award-winner Mike Downes, bass and Grammy award-winner Larnell Lewis, drums. This is an exceptional opportunity to hear these fabulous artists.

August 11 Classical trio Hear•Say features Mécénat Musica Prix Goyer winner Phil Chiu, piano; Dakota Martin, flute; and Thomas Beard, cello, performing classical music from composers such as French romantic Louise Farrenc and including Thomas’ arrangement for Trio of Stravinsky’s Petrushka.

August 12 Nominated for a JUNO Award when he was fourteen, singer/songwriter/guitarist Jimmy Bowskill joins JUNO-nominated and multiple-Canadian Maple Blues Award-winner harmonica virtuoso Carlos del Junco in a Blues fest of their own!

August 13 World-class harpist and JUNO Award nominee Caroline Léonardelli has recently released her new album Serenata to exceptional critical acclaim.

August 14 Accomplished jazz and session violinist and arranger, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Drew Jurecka has spent the last twelve years playing jazz, pop, rock and other contemporary styles in Toronto. He will be performing with well-known jazz guitarist Nathan Hiltz.
