OPP answer domestic assault call

A resident of Bluewater has been arrested and charged by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) following a domestic assault investigation that took place late last night in Bluewater.

Last night shortly after 11:00 p.m. Huron OPP members responded to a London Road address to investigate an allegation of domestic assault.

Police arrived on scene and spoke with the victim in the matter. Police learned the victim had been assaulted by her partner and it was also learned the accused damaged property within the residence.

As a result the accused was taken into custody and charged.

A 55-year-old from Bluewater has been charged with Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Choke, Assault, Mischief & Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused remains in custody with a court date scheduled for May 7, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
