The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are focusing efforts in targeting property crime in Arran-Elderslie after increased reports of fuel thefts and suspicious activity in the area.
The South Bruce OPP would like to remind the public of the following:
- Properly secure your residence, outbuildings and vehicles – Pocket your keys.
- Keep your property well lit and reduce visual obstructions
- Consider equipping surveillance cameras and/or laneway alarms
- Report suspicious activity/vehicles to police
- Never leave valuables in plain view

On April 6, 2024, the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call that a break and enter occurred at a residence in the Municipality of Chatsworth.
Police attended and learned that an unknown individual(s) entered the residence and removed a number of firearms and swords.
The firearms are described as .22 caliber rifles, 12 and 16 gauge shot guns.

On April 10, 2024, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a compliance check in the Town of Walkerton for an individual out on release for other criminal matters.
Police discovered them to be breaching the conditions of their release order. They were subsequently taken into custody without issue.
As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old female, was charged with:
- Failure to comply with release order (two counts)
The accused appeared by video at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on April 11, 2024 where they were remanded into custody. A subsequent court appearance has been scheduled for April 12, 2024 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.
