The stormy weather continues into today, December 24th. All Bruce County Roads are still closed as are those in the Municipality of Kincardine.
Municipal staff continue to work to improve road conditions and ask that the public stay home and stay safe. At this time, the only vehicles that should be on roads are plows or emergency service vehicles.
“We can’t emphasize enough the importance of everyone staying home. The conditions are extreme and dangerous. We want everyone to be able to have a happy holiday, so don’t take chances in weather like this,” says Chief Administrative Officer, Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier.
Facilities are still closed, and programs cancelled for Saturday, December 24th, as previously announced. Municipality of Kincardine staff continue to watch the severe weather.
“Our crews have been working tirelessly throughout this storm to keep our services running. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts,” adds Bellchamber-Glazier.
Community Emergency Management Coordinator/Fire Prevention Officer Shane Watson is busy with added duties to the storm. “It’s Christmas Eve, and as Santa’s Local Support Crew, we need to make sure he can easily access the Municipality this evening,” says Watson. “We’ve been in contact with Santa and his team throughout the storm. He emphasizes that it’s important that folks stay home where it’s safe to allow our crews time to prepare for his arrival.” Please stay safe and for resources to help you through the winter, visit: www.kincardine.ca/weather.
