Search for suspect ends after arrest in Sudbury

Update on Search for Suspect

On January 10, 2019, just before 8:30 a.m., members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were investigating a suspect vehicle with one occupant at an address on Greenock-Elderslie Townline in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

During the investigation, the suspect fled the scene in the vehicle, striking two police cruisers and injuring an officer. The injured officer discharged a firearm at the suspect with unknown results.

On January 13, 2019, shortly before 2:00 p.m., South Bruce OPP members responded to an abandoned vehicle located at the Howick Minto Townline in South Bruce; the vehicle was identified as the subject vehicle in this investigation and has been recovered.

On January 31, 2019, 23-year-old Jeremy Jason HOGG was arrested by the Greater Sudbury Police Service. The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton at a later date.
