Search warrant results in major drugs seized and charges laid

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the Huron Perth CSCU, Emergency Response Team (ERT) and members of the Bruce Peninsula OPP executed a search warrant on a Saugeen First Nation property.

This occurred on February 6, 2019 at approximately 7:00 a.m. As a result of the warrant, five people have been charged: 

– 44-year-old male of Forest, Ontario; 

– 48-year-old male of Saugeen First Nation;

– 49-year-old male of Saugeen First Nation; 

– 25-year-old female of Saugeen First Nation; 

– 35-year-old male of Saugeen First Nation

Each was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a schedule I Substance – Fentanyl contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a schedule I Substance – Oxycodone contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a schedule II Substance – Nabilone contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a schedule III Substance – Psilocybin section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act  

All accused were arrested without incident and are scheduled to appear in Walkerton Criminal Court on February 27, 2019.
