Sexual assault attempted at a Provincial Park

On August 15, 2021 just before 8:30 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision along Side Road 5, in the Municipality of Brockton. Officers responded with members of the Brockton Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedic Service.

A single vehicle had left the roadway, striking a tree. Firefighters had to extricate the driver, who was taken to a trauma centre by Ornge Air Ambulance with life threatening injuries.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as Brayden BERBERICH, 28, of Brockton.

The road was closed for most of the night while the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team attended and assisted with the investigation.

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), including members of the Huron OPP Crime Unit, are currently investigating a sexual assault that took place late last night at a campground located north of Goderich.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021, Huron County OPP responded to Point Farms Provincial Park to investigate a report of a sexual assault.

The adult victim was in a public shower/washroom area, when she was confronted by a stranger and groped. The victim was able to defend herself and quickly ran to a place of safety.

The suspect is described as a brown-skinned male, approximately 40 years of age. He is approximately 5’6″ in height, balding with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a green T-shirt.

The Huron County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public.
