Trailer, boat and motor stolen at Brucedale Conservation Area

On August 31, 2018 at 2:33 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident at a farm property on 3rd Concession in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. Grey County Paramedic Services and Southgate Dundalk Fire Department assisted. The incident involved farm machinery equipment that was being operated by the occupant of the farm. A 4-year-old male suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance but succumbed to his injuries.

On October 20, 2018 Grey County OPP Crime Unit charged the equipment operator, a 32-year-old male of Grey Highlands with Causing Death by Criminal Negligence section 220(b) of Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused will have his first court appearance in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 22, 2018.

A male driver is facing a charge of Refuse to Provide Breath Sample following a traffic stop that occurred on October 23, 2018 in Walkerton.

Just after 10:00 p.m. on October 23, 2018 a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a driver that was travelling on McNab Street in Walkerton. The driver was observed driving in an erratic manner. A member of the South Bruce OPP conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol. A breath demand was given to the driver however the driver refused to provide a sample.

A 20-year-old from Arran-Elderslie, Ontario, was placed under arrest and was subsequently charged with Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. He has since been released from court with a court appearance scheduled for November 14, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Walkerton. His driver’s licence was suspended for an automatic 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend Brucedale Conservation Area at Sprucedale Drive, in the Municipality of Kincardine in response to a theft of a boat and trailer.

OPP investigators attended and discovered that unknown person(s) attended the Brucedale Conservation Area between October 18, 2018 and October 21, 2018 and stole a 2006 Sylvan, 16-foot silver/grey sport troller with a Yamaha four-stroke, 25- horsepower outboard motor. The boat was also stolen with a single axle trailer. The approximate value of the stolen boat, motor and trailer is $4,000.
